That's All

I just love this song... so I thought I'd make up a story for it! Maybe the story didn't quite turn out to be as fabulous or romantic as the song, but what can you do...? lol Read and enjoy, if you like!
That’s All
I can only give you love that lasts forever
And a promise to be near each time you call
And the only heart I own
For you, and you alone
That’s all
That’s all

She sat breathlessly as he whispered in her ear, hearing the soft music from the speakers and his hushed voice speaking the words of the song to her. Tears rose high in her eyes, his voice sending chills throughout her body as she listened to him. His breath was warm on her skin, and he held her so tightly in his strong arms. Marilyn smiled to herself, how she loved his voice when he whispered to only her. It was deep and strong, yet at the same time soft and gentle.

I can only give you country walks in springtime
And a hand to hold when leaves begin to fall
And a love whose burning light
Will warm the winter night
That’s all
That’s all

He meant every word he spoke to her in whispers. He might not be able to give her everything she could ever dream up, but he would always give her all of him and all of his love. Joe knew her, knew that it was all she really needed. Her body shivered in his arms, and he held on tighter. The song was perfect; how it told her everything he wanted to say but never really could find the words for. The smile on her face made his heart jump for joy, just knowing he was the one to make her smile that way.

There are those I am sure who have told you
They would give you the world for a toy
All I have are these arms to enfold you
And a love time can never destroy

Marilyn turned her face toward him, resting her forehead against his. Joe smiled as he whispered to her the words, gently letting his finger trail down her cheek. She closed her eyes at his touch, thinking how perfect it would be in just a few days when he would make her his wife. To have and to hold forever; she would never have to question his love. He would stay right by her side for the rest of their life. Joe watched her smile, knowing she was thinking about their wedding. He kissed her nose, thinking to himself that he could hardly wait to properly make her his wife.

If you’re wondering what I’m asking in return dear,
You’ll be glad to know that my demands are small
Say it’s me that you’ll adore
For now and evermore
That’s all
That’s all

Marilyn beat him to it, whispering the words of the song before he had a chance to begin. He just sat there, listening to her soft voice as she whispered to him, her fingers trailing through his thick dark hair. Her breath tickled his neck and he smiled wider when she kissed him lightly on his neck. The music faded slowly, and all he could hear was her whispering voice as she spoke to him the final words.

If you’re wondering what I’m asking in return dear,
You’ll be glad to know that my demands are small
Say it’s me that you’ll adore
For now and evermore
That’s all
That’s all

The song ended and she looked into his eyes, finding him smiling at her. He touched her face, bringing her to him in a gentle kiss. "I love you." he said, and Marilyn smiled widely at him. "I love you, too." she said, slipping her arms around his neck. Joe smiled and squeezed her a little tighter when he heard her gently humming. "That's all…" he whispered, and she giggled against his neck. "That's all." she whispered back, kissing him softly.

Yet another story

Okay, so this might not be the best one ever written, and it has a possibly shitty ending, but oh well... lol I'm gonna post it anyway! :o) Enjoy (one hopes) reading!

Meant To Be

He opened his eyes, seeing a bright white room and someone sitting next to him. “Nan?” he croaked, squinting to see the person closer. “No, she’s not here.” A man’s voice. “Who are you?” Daniel asked, realising he had no idea where he was. “My name is Sammy. I’m here to show you. Come with me.” the man said, getting up. “Where are we going?” Daniel wondered. “You were annoyed with her when you left, weren’t you? She took too long to get ready.” Sammy said, and his mouth dropped open. “How’d you know that?” he asked. “Oh, there are many things I know, Daniel.” Sammy said, smiling at him. “You were thinking to yourself that you’d been to harsh, and you wondered what your life would’ve been like had you never met Nancy.” he continued, and all Daniel could do was nod. “I’m here to show you. You see, some people will always end up together no matter which paths they may take in life. Because their way is predetermined from long before they were born.” Sammy said, nodding toward a door. Daniel got up, and followed the elderly man across the room and out the door.

He sits alone at a table in a small café
Drowning his tears
In a bottomless cup of coffee
And he’s tumbling into his thoughts
His memories are all tied in knots
Who is going to save him?
No one wants to know him

Daniel and Sammy stood outside a café window, looking in at a young man sat alone at a table. “That’s me!” Daniel said, sounding surprised. “Yes, that’s you.” Sammy said, pushing through the door and sitting at a vacant table across from the lonely version of Daniel. “Where’s Nan?” he asked, looking at Sammy. “You haven’t met her, remember? This is your life without her.” Sammy said, and Daniel turned back to watching himself. “I look awful…” he said softly. “I wonder what I’m thinking?” he said, and Sammy smiled. “Oh, but you know what you’re thinking Daniel. Just concentrate.” he said as Daniel leant close and focused on his own thoughts. Suddenly they spilled into his mind, and an enormous wave of loneliness washed over him. The version of himself was wondering why he was always alone, how come no one wanted him. And who would save him from himself? He was thinking how he lived a lie, that his insides were a mess but his outside seemed fine.
“Oh my God…” Daniel whispered softly.

She stands alone
In a place where no one knows her name
She catches them staring
They turn around and finish the frame
And she’s nursing her head and her pride
She died long ago
Deep down inside
Who is going to save her?
No one wants to know her

Their location had changed now; they were sitting on a bench in the park. “Nancy…!” Daniel said, seeing her standing alone.
Everyone there didn’t even seem to notice her standing there. She looked up, finding a couple looking at her and they quickly turned away. Nancy turned her head and closed her eyes, fighting the tears that pressed on.
“Why is she so sad?” Daniel asked, turning to Sammy. The look on his face was sad, he cared more about her well-being than his own. He hadn’t even looked this sad when he heard his own thoughts. “She hasn’t met you. There is no one there to care for her.” Sammy said. Daniel stood up and walked over to where Nancy stood. He reached out to touch her, but she didn’t move a muscle when he touched her face. “Look at her, Daniel. Look at her eyes. What colour are they?” Sammy asked behind him. “They’re grey… they’re dead.” he said softly, remembering how Nancy’s deep blue eyes would always shine and sparkle at him. These eyes were dead, revealing how she felt inside. “There are no hopes and no dreams left in her, Daniel. When no one is there to save her from her own deterioration, how can she save herself?” Sammy said, and a tear trickled down Daniel’s face. “Oh, Nan, my angel…” he whispered, closing his eyes.

I can’t believe that you pull on a sleeve
When you cry
You’ll stick in the knife
Then give the kiss of life
Live the lie
We all have a saviour
So do yourself a favour
Stop living the lie

Daniel turned to Sammy, his face sad. “Will she never be happy again?” he asked, and Sammy laughed a little. “What did I tell you about some people’s fates?” he said, and Daniel thought for a moment. He looked over his shoulder, seeing Nancy walking away, keeping her eyes on the ground. “That it’s been predetermined.” he said, and Sammy nodded. “If two such lost souls meet, what would happen? Would they die together, or breathe again?” Daniel looked at him, looking at all the people around him. “Why didn’t anyone here see her pain?” he asked, motioning to all the people around them. “Why didn’t they reach out and see through her lie?” he asked. Sammy just looked at him. “Because they weren’t meant to find her. They are still living lies, making believe that their lives are happy and perfect. You are meant to save her, Daniel. You see past her exterior, you breathe life into her dead soul and mend her broken heart. Everyone has a saviour. You are Nancy’s, just as she is yours.” Sammy said smiling. He snapped his fingers, and they were gone.

He sits alone and looks up to the eyes
Of an angel
She catches him staring and smiles the smile
Of an angel
And she asks him if this chair is free?
He says yes will you sit here with me?
No one would have saved them
We should all learn from them

They’re back at the café again, at the same table across from the lonely Daniel. The door went, and Nancy walked in. The café was full, and after she’d bought her coffee she walked over to Daniel’s table. She bit her lip just as he looked up at her. He couldn’t help but be speechless at her beauty. Nancy blushed a little and smiled at him.
Daniel turned to Sammy and grinned. “She smiled at me! Him!” he said triumphantly, and Sammy laughed. “Keep watching them, Daniel.” he said, nodding to the couple in front of them.
“Is this chair free?” she asked, and he nodded. “Yes, will you sit here with me?” he said, almost sounding surprised that she’d want to sit with him. Nancy sat down, and he held his hand out. “I’m Daniel.” he said, and she smiled as she took his hand. “Nice to meet you, Daniel. I’m Nancy.” she said, and they smiled at each other across the table.
Daniel grinned widely at Sammy. “You were right!” he said, and Sammy laughed. “You were always meant to be, Daniel. You’re each other saviours.” Sammy said, and suddenly they were back in that bright room again. “And she takes so long to get ready, because she wants to look beautiful for you.” Sammy said, and Daniel smiled. “But she always looks beautiful to me.” he said. Sammy smiled at him. “Tell her that.” he said.

I can’t believe that you pull on a sleeve
When you cry
You’ll stick in the knife
Then give the kiss of life
Live the lie
We all have a saviour
So do yourself a favour
Stop living the lie

“Daniel!” Nancy cried, shaking him to wake him up. His eyes opened, and he stared right into Nancy’s beautiful big deep blue eyes. His head ached, but he felt revived. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly. “My angel…! My Nan!” he said, squeezing her tight. She looked bemused at his reaction. “I think you hit your head hard when you fell.” she said. “I’m sorry I got annoyed… Nancy, you always look beautiful to me, no matter what you wear. Make-up or not, you’re gorgeous.” he said, and she blushed. “Thank you.” she said. “Daniel, are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?” she asked, running her fingers through his hair to check his head for bumps. “I’m fine. Nan, I saw us if we hadn’t met like we did… we’d end up together no matter what, you and me. We’re predetermined to be together. It was meant to be even before we were born. We’re each other saviours, Nan… we’re meant to be. We see past the lies, to the inside. To what really matters.” he said, and she looked at him bewildered and shook her head. “What are you talking about?” she asked, and he laughed. “Never mind.” he said, holding her tight. “I love you, Nancy… you’re beautiful in every way.” he whispered, kissing her lips softly. She smiled at him. “Oh, Daniel…” she giggled. “I love you, too.” she whispered back.

Happy Birthday!

Today is a somewhat special day. Not because it's finally June, but because my idol and greatest heroine would have turned 80 years today, had she been allowed to live.

June 1, 1926

Yes, everybody, today is Marilyn Monroe's birthday! :o) The blonde beauty would have turned 80 today, and I'm sure she would have looked as stunning as she did when she was still alive. I know she would, because she was the one who once said "I want to grow old without facelifts, I want to be true to the face I made." More stars should follow Marilyn's advise.

It may sound strange, but I miss her. I never knew her, I wasn't even alive or even thought of when she lived and then tragically died, but I see in her things that I also see in myself. I suppose I sometimes identify myself with her. She's my idol, and even if people see her as a dumb blonde, I know better. ;o)

Maybe we should all have some champagne today and remember the world's best loved blonde. She may be gone, but she will be forever remembered for her beauty, grace and elegance.

Happy birthday, Marilyn, have a wonderful day wherever you are!
