Movies I can't wait to see

I just cannot wait to see "Mamma Mia!" when it comes out (in Norway) July 10th! It premieres here the day after I turn 25 (*shudder*), so I will be in need of a funny, romantic, feel-good, all-out girly movie that day, I'm certain! ;) And besides... Meryl Streep is in it, and I just LOVE her. I can't wait to hear her sing; I know she has an amazing voice, and hearing her belt out classic ABBA tracks will be heaven! lol Especially for a hungover, somewhat sad, newly-turned 25 year-old..! The fact that Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth co-stars as two of three possible fathers of the bride, also helps a lot. Sexy men (who sings and quite possibly also dances, by the way) and amazing Meryl who acts and sings her heart out. Perfect remedy to get over the fact that I'm halfway to fifty, no? ;)

I read today that there will possibly be a movie about the Fraggles!! Yes, it's true, they're talking about giving them an entire movie! Actually, it will most likely be a musical, it said, but still.. how cool is that? I remember watching that show on telly when I was little... the themesong still gets stuck in my head like nobody's business! :) If they do make the movie, I will definitely go see it! Apparently, the Fraggles will be going into the human world... ooh, exciting! ;)

Watch this space for more movies I wanna go see...! lol

Heath Ledger is dead

Oh my gosh... I came into work like 20 mins ago, started up the pc, went to a news site and staring me in the face is the headline "Heath Ledger (28) found dead". Now, although I've never been a diehard fan of his, I still found myself feeling sad as I read about the young actor that was found dead in his bed by his maid yesterday afternoon (US time). I feel so bad for his little daughter, for his family and friends. He had such a talent, a long successful career ahead of him, and a beautiful little girl to watch grow up. So, it is sad that an accident (sleeping pills were found near the bed) claimed the life of this young actor, only 28 years old.

My Love

My love, we have seen it all
The endless confessions, the rise and fall
As fragile as a child
Lately I'm sorry I can't hold a smile

Francesca’s voice sounded softly from the speakers all around the living room, and shivers shot through him as he listened to her words. The room was dark, only a couple of candles light the night. Tears rose high in his eyes as he listened to her words, singing to him softly from someplace he wouldn’t see for many years more.

But I stand tall to get by
No matter how hard I try to hide
Did you know I take the time for you?
Did you know that I would see you through?
Did you know that I would play the part?
I must've made it clear right from the start

She was strong, and refused to let anything slow her down. That was just her way, and it was what he had loved about her. The glow in her that made her reach the goals she set for her life, and yet she would always find time for them to be together. Even if her days were busy and it seemed like there was a million things happening all at once, he never once felt as if he came second. Somehow, Francesca would make him feel as if she did nothing but be with him. Always there beside him, whenever he needed her, she would leave everything behind for as long as he asked her. Just as she had promised him from the start.

My love, can you give me strength?
Somehow I forgot how to ease my pain
I know I'm right where I belong
Something from nothing never proved me wrong

Robert knew he had done everything in his power for her, and in his heart, he knew that Francesca knew that too. If he ever saw her fighting to remain in control, he gladly gave her of his strength and let her rest for a while, promising to take away the bad things by the time she woke up. And when her eyes opened and she smiled at him, she needed no words to tell him that she was grateful. Right now, Robert needed her words to soothe him as he listened to her beautiful voice asking for his strength.

But I stand tall to get by
No matter how hard I try to hide
Did you know I take the time for you?
Did you know that I would see you through?
Did you know that I would play the part?
I must've made it clear right from the start

Francesca had been over the moon about moving to New York, and she had loved it. It seemed as if the city agreed with her, and everywhere she went, she made new friends. Manhattan had never seemed brighter than when Francesca walked down the streets, smiling and waving at all those people she knew. It didn’t matter to her where you came from, as long as you were a good person. Everyone who crossed her path had felt the goodness she possessed, and Robert had felt it more than anyone. When he needed her for boring business dinners and cocktail parties she always played the part required of her, be it as hospitable hostess or gracious guest. And to her, it was the least she could do for the man she loved so much.

I would share my whole life with you
Would you do the same for me?
I would give all I am to you
Would you do the same for me?

Just as she had shared her life with him, he had given all of him to her. Nothing between them had ever been kept in the shadows; Francesca believed that everything should be brought into the light, and it had made their bond even closer. He didn’t make any motion to dry his tears, hearing her voice near whispering the words he knew she’d meant as a request for him to continue on; always keeping her in his heart, and sharing the rest of his life with her.

And I will stand tall to get by
No matter how hard I try to hide
Could you see I've been brave?
Did you notice all my mistakes?
There were times I could feel you read my mind

His sob broke the silence of the apartment, and he cried out for her. He knew no answer would come, but he couldn’t help himself. Francesca had stood tall until the end, until her body gave up and couldn’t continue on. Those around her had not known how sick she was, but Robert had been there when her face cracked up with the pain that shot through her body. He had watched her throughout it all, and he had seen how brave she’d been. He had helped her as much as he could, and Francesca had felt how he seemed to read her mind.

When the cancer finally claimed her life, Robert had followed her final wishes. To send her off with a happy ending; where all those she knew and loved came together to remember all the good and happy times. She didn’t want those she was forced to leave to gather in sadness and anger, and he had done as she asked. Robert had been strong that entire day but now, hearing her song, he unravelled and let his grief tumble out of him. It felt as if his heart broke more and more with each beat, and he promised her that he would see her wishes through. He would go on, sharing every day with her in his heart, seeing life through as if she was right there by his side, just as they had set out to do together.

Did you know I take the time for you?
Did you know that I would see you through?
Did you know that I would play the part?
I know I made it clear right from the start

Nicely done!

This is just perfect. A lady comes into my little office not 15 minutes ago, says she's new with the OA (Office Administration), and that I'm moving today. I just look at her like, "huh?". And she goes, "oh, I was under the impression that those who were moving had been told." I GUESS NOT, LADY! I was just like, okay, so where am I moving to? Apparently, I'm being moving two floors down, and into another little office. I mean, that's fine by me, but what about a little information? Another reason why I would prefer to work somewhere else, then preferably in a reception where I can't really avoid being seen. I mean, it would be nice to make sure that you inform everyone that's supposed to move offices, that they are MOVING OFFICES!! This is a big company, so you would think that they knew how to give out information and treat their employees with a little class. But they keep 'forgetting' to tell me things, and to be quite honest... it's getting old. I understand that because of my position within the company, I'm not out and about, interacting with the other employees (not that I'd really want to anyway), but Jesus people! - if you're moving your goddamn switchboard (your first "point of entry" for callers), TELL THE FLIPPIN' OPERATOR, YOU F***KING EEJITS!!

A new story!

It's been much too long since I posted a new story here, so I thought I'd post one right now! I have a lot of time on my hands (at work), so I wrote this little song fic. Enjoy it!

Catch My Breath

We were still in high school when I first met you
Even then you were the prettiest girl that I ever knew
And we carved our name on everything that we could find
The way that all kids do
And although time has passed I still get surprised at the pulling in my chest
When I know you’re coming by
If this feeling’s proving anything it’s not everything is gonna change with time
You’re still mine

Mark’s breath caught in his throat when the cute redhead that had just walked into the café smiled shyly his way. He hadn’t seen her around before, and despite feeling colour flood his cheeks, he couldn’t look away.
“Yo, Mark?” Kian said, snapping his fingers in front of his face. He snapped back to the present, and turned to his friends. Kian and Shane laughed.
“Oops, I think Mark’s in love.” Kian grinned. “Who is it?” he asked, looking around the café. Mark turned and his eyes landed on the cute girl with the gorgeous red hair.
“Her.” he said, nodding toward where she sat at a table. She sat reading a book, and didn’t see the three lads gawking at her. “I haven’t seen her before.” Mark said.
“I think she just moved here or something. Looks like she goes to Mercy.” Shane said, looking her uniform over. “Go talk to her before Kian does.” he said, and Kian stuck his tongue out at him.
“Too late.” he said as he got up, and confidently walked over to where she sat. Mark felt his heart sink, and he kicked himself for not going over. The girl and Kian talked, and he pointed over to their table and she followed his finger. She blushed meeting Mark’s eyes, and she pushed her glasses back up on her nose. Kian took her backpack, and led her over to their table. He grinned at Mark as he sat down.
“This is Shane and Mark.” he said to her, pointing at them in turn. “Lads, this is Orlah. She’s 15, and new in town.” Kian said, and she smiled. “Just grab a chair.”
“Hello. Nice to meet you both.” she said, her voice so soft and sweet. Mark’s entire body felt numb when she looked at him and smiled, quickly looking down as she blushed.
It took Shane and Kian under an hour to set the two up on a date, and from that day on; there was rarely a sighting of either Orlah or Mark without the other one.

Did you know when you’re around
My heart won’t it can’t slow down
It beats so hard it makes it hard
To catch my breath, to catch my breath

Mark’s breath caught in his throat when the beautiful redhead walked toward him, and just as his heart had stopped at the sight of her that day eight years ago when they’d first met, it stopped now as she made her way down the aisle toward him. She looked stunning in her wedding dress, and tears rose in his eyes as he stood there watching her. In his chest, his heart beat so hard he imagined the sound of its beats were audible. He drew a shaky breath just as she reached him, and when he looked into her eyes, he could hardly believe she was real. Eight years together told him differently, and when she smiled at him the specs of gold in her green eyes sparkled.

Don’t ever ask me if I’m sorry that I’m here with you
Baby you can bet I don’t regret the girls I never knew
Every day’s another first another chance for me to fall in love with you
And I do…

Orlah stood in the corner of the room as she watched the lads get swarmed by screaming fans. She smiled, seeing the lads happily signing every item put under their noses, smiling for photos and handing out hugs to each fan. Mark smiled and winked at her, and she sighed happily. When she’d asked him that morning if he was sorry that he had never dated anyone but her, and if he missed that opportunity, he had laughed and wrapped her up in his arms.
“Orlah, how can I be sorry that I’m with you? You’re all I need, and every single day I fall in love with you. Don’t ever worry that I long for others.” he told her, and she blushed, feeling silly for having asked. Mark held her tight as he kissed her, and Orlah sighed, feeling her knees turn into jelly when he kissed her.

Did you know when you’re around
My heart won’t it can’t slow down
It beats so hard it makes it hard
To catch my breath, to catch my breath

When she came closer to him and saw the tears in his eyes, she was certain that if she opened her mouth right then, she wouldn’t be able to speak at all. She bit her lip to keep from crying as a tear rolled down her face. Mark’s hands took hold of hers, and her heart was beating so hard in her chest she could barely catch her breath.
Oh… When you’re with me I stop seeingAny way to fail how do I explainI try to tell you what I’m feelingBut how do I when all words pale
“I tried my best to make you a speech, but I found no words that would describe how I feel.” Mark said as he looked at her, and smiled. “So, I enlisted some help from a few members of this chart-topping band I know to help me.” he said as he walked over to a little makeshift stage where Kian, Shane and Nicky stood grinning. Music started playing, and Orlah smiled as Shane bean singing.

Did you know when you’re around
My heart won’t it can’t slow down
It beats so hard it makes it hard
To catch my breath, to catch my breath

Tears welled up in her eyes and made their way down her face as she listened to the song, and shivers rushed through her. When Mark looked at her and sang, goosebumps broke out all over her skin, and she held a hand over her mouth to keep from sobbing.

Did you know when you’re around
My heart won’t it can’t slow down
It beats so hard it makes it hard
To catch my breath, to catch my breath

Mark couldn’t take his eyes from her as he sang, and although tears tumbled down her face, he could see the smile in her eyes and how she seemed to radiate happiness. He stepped down from the little stage, and walked over to her. She slipped her hand in his, and let him pull her from her seat. He dried her tears away, and she laughed a little. Her laughter made his heart skip beats as it thundered in his chest. He pulled her to him and kissed her tenderly. She gave him a look so full of love, his breath caught in his throat.
“I love you.” she whispered breathlessly, and Mark smiled at her.
“I love you, too.” he whispered back as the lads sang the last few lines.
To catch my breath, to catch my breath
To catch my breath, to catch my breath…
